| The Grand Interconnect (GI), a multi-mainframe solution with high throughput and low latency.
The GI is a set of products to connect one or more I/O chassis to a host computer.
A GI - based system includes a host adapter, a fiber-optic highway and one or more I/O controllers. Host adapters are available for VME (2961) and PCI (2962). A slot-0 controller (V160) is available for VXI, and a crate controller (3972) is available for CAMAC. Supports up to 126 I/O chassis with up to 2 Km per segment.
